We have a team of autograph acquisition personnel that travel throughout the country. We remain humble and thankful to the celebrities for their generosity in helping charities and foundations.
It is common practice to provide a certification of authenticity with each signed item. It is important to understand the differences between these certifications since it impacts the value of the item. Below are the three levels of certification that can be found in the industry. Allstar provides at least one of these certifications with each item.
Celebrity Level Certifications
Certain companies such as Upper Deck have direct access to sports players through their trading card product line. They are able to contract with sports player to provide a player certification. They maintain a registration of each item which help to provide maximum security over authentication.
Third Party Certification
There are several nationally recognized autograph certification organizations such as PSA. They independently review the autograph and provide an opinion and certification on the authenticity of the autograph item. This is typically the level of certification collectors look for.
Local Certification of Authenticity (COA)
Companies such as Allstar Charity Services, provide a local certificate of authentication. Allstar obtains its autograph directly through its autograph acquisition team. However, while we work with charities throughout the United States, we are not nationally recognized for our certifications. This does not change the level of authenticity, just the level of recognition of our certification.
